I’ve had an interest in maps since high school, and am fascinated by Mapbox’s SDK and wide-scale global business impact and commitment to community. Before Mapbox, I worked at a large tech company and within civic tech; Mapbox merged some of the best elements of both, within a start-up.
At Mapbox, I’m able to work with a global team of people and engage with global talent. I’ve been able to pare down ideas and work on major company hiring priorities. I also chair our Black Employees at Mapbox Employee Resource Group, and have been able to connect business objectives into our programming.

I originally applied to Mapbox without knowing much about the company because they had an amazing job listing that talked about how they were looking for people with curiosity and a willingness to learn new things - and then my interviewer was wearing a pride shirt during our meeting which made me really happy to see!

I’m a map nerd! Mapbox is the perfect place to spend your day thinking about how we can represent the real world in maps.
Being a map designer at Mapbox is a great mix of designing, tackling challenging technical problems and strategy. I work on many different topics, some related to map design, others to product development or map data curation. No day is exactly like the other: I may find myself figuring out how to resolve a critical bug or brainstorming with co-workers about how our products should evolve.
Mapbox gives me the opportunity to focus on the areas I want to grow in. For me, I really wanted to improve my coding skills. My manager and my team supported me and made it possible for me to work on a technical project related to map tooling, even though I wasn’t the most experienced person on the job. As a result, I have a much better understanding of how our tooling at Mapbox works!
